Widows' Empowerment
Widowhood in Nigeria is frequently an economic event as much as a personal one. Our response is capital and skills, not sympathy.
The problem
The women we work with are not looking for a handout. They are looking for the working capital that would let them restart a trade they already know how to run.

What we do
Our response
- Provide vocational and business skills training in trades with real local demand.
- Give small start-up grants and equipment rather than loans.
- Include widows and elderly women in every Feed the Street outreach as a matter of course.
- Follow up at three, six and twelve months to see whether the business is still trading.
Who benefits
Specifically
Widows and elderly women in Osun State, with priority given to those supporting dependent children.
₦25,000 provides start-up stock for one widow's trade.
Give once, or set up a monthly gift so this programme can plan beyond the next outreach.
