Hope for Almajiri
Nigeria has one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world. Hope for Almajiri meets those children where they already are.
The problem
Debating the system does not feed a child this week. Our position is narrow and practical: meet the immediate need, build trust, then work with the mallams and community leaders to add literacy and numeracy on top of it.

What we do
Our response
- Distribute food, clean water, clothing and hygiene supplies directly to almajiri children.
- Supply reading and writing materials for basic literacy and numeracy sessions.
- Work through existing mallams and community leaders rather than around them.
- Track individual children over time so support does not stop after one visit.
Who benefits
Specifically
Out-of-school and almajiri children in and around Osogbo, Osun State, and in our secondary operating area in Oyo State.
₦10,000 funds reading materials for two children for one school term.
Give once, or set up a monthly gift so this programme can plan beyond the next outreach.
